Who am I and what am I doing here?

Good question, as politicians like to say when they’re playing f0r time or trying to cover up a gaping pit of ignorance of the topic at hand. I used to be a journalist, but recently retrained as an English teacher as part of a mid-life-crisis-fuelled search for redemption. I still try to write, have a couple of books on the go at the moment, but this blog is mainly meant to chronicle my love affair with children’s literature, and particularly recent young adult fiction.

I am in the process of setting up a website, mainly for teachers, but also parents and teenagers, to act as a guide to current teenage fiction. It’s called The Wide Wide World and I’ll post the link here when I’m finished fooling around with it.
